Teens Giving Birth – Teen Pregnancies and How to Help With Them

There are many social issues that plague the United States, and one of the dominant issues is teen pregnancy. Because teen pregnancy affects not only the teen mother and father, solutions must be found to this problem that has been rampant in this country. Teen pregnancy rates hit their peak in 1991, and for the last several years the rates have been declining. However, according to reports published in 2007, the rate of teens giving birth has again been on the rise. Teen pregnancy is an issue that affects all races, ethnicities and those of all socioeconomic classes. American Indian females, Caucasian females, and Hispanic females all experienced an increase in the number of teen pregnancies reported as well. Teen females are those females aged 15-19. It has been determined that no single factor influences teen pregnancy. Unfortunately, the teens portrayed in popular entertainment rarely suffer consequences from their promiscuity, which is incredibly misleading as many teen females discover when it is too late.
The consequences to the children of teen mothers and to society at large include:
- Increased health care costs
- Increased foster case costs
- Increased incarceration costs
- Lower tax revenues
These consequences result because teens giving birth are more likely to smoke and less likely to receive prenatal care. Babies born to teen mothers tend to be underweight, which generally requires more medical attention to ensure the baby’s health. Teen mothers are less likely to be married, which leaves the teen mother to raise the child as a single parent.

Times have changed and so have all social paradigms. One of the gravest ones today is that of teen pregnancies in schools across the country. including the Orlando schools.
A teen pregnancy, though the result of a few moments of careless indulgence, usually open up a Pandora ’s Box. Abstinence, Improved Sex Education or Birth Control – a rather difficult choice for Orlando schools
Dealing with teen pregnancies is certainly not easy for anyone concerned not just in Orlando schools. There are a few options that Orlando schools have. One is taking the conservative approach to solving the problem and espousing abstinence. No wonder, Orlando schools are being forced to seriously consider other options.
Though sex education is already a part of the curriculum across Orlando schools starting from elementary through high school, it still is far from enough in dissuading teens from having (unsafe) sex and/or getting pregnant. The result is that Orlando schools continue to have to deal with young mothers and their problems.

Another recent debate has been over whether teenaged pregnant girls in Orlando schools should qualify for maternity leave. So, what remains to be seen is whether the conservative approach holds the key to the problem of teen pregnancies in Orlando schools.

How many times does a parent have to remind their child about contraception,and sexually transmitted diseases. In some unfortunate cases children just do not listen and choose to ignore the best advice any parent can give to their child.
It is hard for a parent to see their child having a child. Unwanted pregnancies in teens, a sad situation but the damage is done so accept the situation and start to face up to responsibilities
Matters intend to get out of hand by leaving it to late to consult a doctor or talking to your parents. If you have any inclinations that you are pregnant seek help right away.
What is mum and dad going to say may be causing you unnecessary worry.
Believe me when I say if ever you needed anyone to give you support throughout this teenage pregnancy, it is your mum so talk to her.
Contraception is about helping to stop unwanted pregnancies also STDs are prevented by the use of a condom. Which would be the worst an unwanted teen pregnancy or a STD. I am not saying that every teen pregnancy has not worked out for some young mums today, but for a great many it has ruined their lives. Do you want to raise a baby, especially one that has ruined your life. Sadly many teen mums don’t so the innocent baby has to suffer.
Come on girls and boys think of the consequences.If you choose to ignore all the golden rules then you have to accept the consequences.
I do not wish to frighten you, just make you aware that teen mums that have not fully reached puberty themselves may need extra care and attention.
People who deal with these type of situations are very understanding and compassionate regarding whatever maybe troubling you about your pregnancy or any STD concerns..
